Government 'insulting the intelligence of the Irish people'

The party - which is not represented in the Upper House or the Dáil - says a 'No' vote in next month's referendum is one for political reform.
It said that despite Government claims that keeping the Seanad will mean things being kept exactly as they are, the coalition would not be able to ignore the will of the people.
Green leader Eamon Ryan says less political accountability will not be good for the country.
"All the international analysis of our economic crisis is that one of the main factors behind it was our not having diverse and different voices in public debate," he said.
"What the Government is suggesting, insulting the intelligence of the Irish people, is that less politicians in its own right is going to be better.
"We don't believe that, we don't think the Irish people will vote for that, we think they will vote for political reform."
