Government urged to act on 120 reported cases of racism

It comes after the Immigrant Council of Ireland said it responded to 120 incidents of racism during the past year.
One third of reports were about racism in the workplace - while 29% concerned Government or State bodies - such as An Garda Siochana.
Just last month 29 separate cases were reported - that compares to just 3 incidents in July 2012.
CEO of the Immigrant Council of Ireland, Denise Charlton said that she thinks the increase is down to more victims seeking help.
"I think that there is more awareness we have done a big push in promoting the fact that the Immigrant Council does provide support," she said.
"But really that is not enough now, people also want to know that proper legislation and policy are in place."
