Man stabbed during robbery in Co Down

A man was stabbed during a robbery in Co Down today.

The attack happened in the Station Avenue area of Castlewellan just after 10.30am.

The victim was walking when he was set upon by another man who also stole some cash.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which were not believed to be life threatening.

The attacker who was about 6ft tall made off in the direction of Station Road.

A spokesman for the PSNI appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
