Jacky Lumi, of no fixed abode, is accused of killing Kamal El Habsati, a Dutch citizen of Moroccan descent, whose stabbed body was found four days after the alleged killing at his home at Linnbhla Apartments, Ballymun.
Dressed in jeans and an adidas top, Lumi was brought in to court this evening charged with the murder of 31 year old El Habsati on Saturday December 1.
The deceased had been living and working in Dublin.
Lumi was arrested on Wednesday.
Detectiv Garda Damien Rogers gave evidence that he had nothing to say when charged with the murder earlier this afternoon.
The 41-year-old doesn't require an interpreter but Judge Cormac Dunne directed that he receive medical attention in custody having been told he suffers from depression.
He has been remanded for a week to Cloverhill District Court.
