A jury found he stabbed her in the back four times in front of their three children because he had found out she was having an affair.
David Bourke was jailed for life in 2009 for murdering his 45 year old wife at their home in Laverna Dales, Castleknock in August 2007.
He gave evidence at his trial that he had a good relationship with his wife until June of that year when she told him she loved someone else and wanted to separate.
Jean had rekindled a relationship with an old lover, musician Robert Campion, a man she first met on a Buddhist trip to Japan in 1986.
David Bourke said he was devastated when he found their love letters and felt like a cuckold when he returned with the kids one evening to find two dirty plates in the kitchen.
When she returned from meeting her lover he lunged at her with a knife in front of their children before dialling 999 and trying to resuscitate her.
