Body found in Kildare, investigation underway

An investigation is underway following the discovery of a man's body in Co Kildare.

The remains of a man in his 50s were found when the fire brigade attended the scene of a blaze at a house in Leinster Walk, Kildare town, at 5am this morning.

Gardaí say the house hadn't been occupied for some time.

The body has been removed to Naas General Hospital Morgue, where a post mortem examination will be carried out shortly.
