Member of Éirígí charged with arms possession

Long time Éirígí activist Ursula Shannon, of Inglewood Crescent, Clonsilla, appeared with her co-accused Colin Brady of Ashgrove, Baskin Lane, Kinsealy, John Troy, of Dunard Avenue, Cabra and John McGreal, of Thornchase, Palmer Road, Rush.
All four of the accused are charged with the possession of two handguns and 32 rounds of ammunition at Tullybeg, Rahan, Co Offaly last Tuesday night.
Mr McGreal and Mr Troy are additionally charged with membership of an unlawful organisation within the state styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Oglaigh na hÉireann on November 27th, 2012.
A thronged Special Criminal Court heard that none of the accused made any reply either upon arrest or when the charges were put to them.
Three of the accused appeared before the non-jury court wearing similar dark blue work clothes, while Mr Brady wore a grey tracksuit.
All four were remanded in custody with liberty to apply for bail to appear in front of the court on December 6th.
