Garda warning over treacherous road conditions

Gardaí are advising motorists to drive with extreme caution as adverse weather has affected many of the country's roads.

A landslide in Westmeath on the M6 has been cleared but motorists are advised the road is treacherous between junction 12 Roscommon and Junction 13 Athlone West.

Meanwhile in Dublin, a pedestrian was taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Upper Leeson Street.

The road is closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
