Plan launched to reduce Dublin road deaths

A new plan has been launched in Dublin today aimed at reducing the number of serious injuries and deaths on the capital's roads.

The Casualty Reduction Plan hopes to improve road safety with a focus on pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists during rush hour travel.

Gardaí say the October/November period is a particularly dangerous time on Dublin's roads and they are hoping the initiative will bring about a greater public awareness of the risks facing road users.
