Gardaí appeal for information on Limerick assault

Gardaí are appealing for information about a serious assault on a man in Limerick city.

The man, in his late 30s, was treated for serious head injuries on St Francis Place in the early hours of yesterday.

He was discovered by emergency services, who were attending a suspicious house fire in the area.

The man was taken to Cork University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
