€600k award for cyclist, aged 73, 'blown off' road

The incident occurred on the dual-carriageway between Cork and Ballincollig on Jul 14, 2011. Michael Gleeson, for the man, said that it was permissible to cycle on a dual-carriageway.
"He was effectively blown off the road by the defendant," said Mr Gleeson.
The defendants in the action were Carrigaline Joinery Ltd, the owner of the van involved, and John O'Neill, company director and driver of the van, both with an address at Rosehill, Carrigaline.
