Woman in critical condition after weekend crash

While the driver of the other vehicle was uninjured, the woman was badly hurt and was last night fighting for her life at CUH.

The incident follows a number of serious crashes on the roads in recent days.
On Christmas Day at 11pm, 26-year-old Luke Peeks died in Ballybofey, Co Donegal, in a single-vehicle incident. His car spun off the road while he was returning from visiting his girlfriend.
On Sunday, Dec 23, Valerie O'Donovan, aged 32, - who had an 11-year-old daughter - died in another single-vehicle road crash just after 2am on the Dunmanway to Bandon Road in West Cork.
The previous Thursday, Dec 20, Ashford native Gerard Kelly, aged 24, died in Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick, after an incident on the R515 at Killacullen just after 4pm.
Mr Kelly, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was the only person in a car that struck a wall.
On the same day another man died on the South Link Road in Bishopstown, Co Cork. The pedestrian, who was in his 70s, was hit by a vehicle at 6.30pm.
In Clare, concerns have been raised over the accumulation of water on a 22km stretch of motorway between Barefield and Gort in Galway following several accidents in recent weeks, including a fatal collision.
On Saturday, a car lost control in wet conditions on the road. The driver was alone in the vehicle and escaped uninjured after the car lost control and ploughed into a crash barrier, with the impact spinning it in the opposite direction.
