Date set for Quinns' legal battle with Anglo
on 09/10/2012 00:00:00
The Quinns deny liability for €2.3bn in loans which they say were given illegally by the bank to prop up its share value. IBRC is pursuing the Quinns for €2.8bn.
The Irish Bank Resolution Corporation told the court it would be presenting the Quinns with 60,000 files connected to the case.
Seán Quinn's son in law Niall McPartland, who is not a plaintiff in the case, said he was speaking on behalf of Ciara, Colette, Brenda, and Aoife Quinn, Patricia Quinn and Seán Quinn Jr in court yesterday.
He asked the case be fixed for hearing before the second anniversary of the litigation in May. Counsel for the bank had asked the court not to fix a date due to discovery issues.
Mr McPartland said the family hoped to inform the court in the coming weeks as to whether they would have legal representation.
