Robbie's new threads show quiet integrity

The 38-year old joined forces last year with former Burberry designer director Ben Dickens to create a menswear line that speaks to "every man". Inspired by his Kilkenny-born grandfather Jack Farrell, a notable dresser, the brand aims to reflect an old-school ethos of authenticity and quiet integrity.

Unlike many celebrity clothing lines that aim to cash in on a name, Farrell reflects a distinctly British nous in choice of quality fabrics and Savile Row-style tailoring. Cavalry twill, heavy melton, and selvedge denim curry favour to the brand's recession-friendly "wear in and wear it out" motto, with prices starting at just €50.

For autumn/winter, customers can expect a clean edit of style staples across day and eveningwear.

Hero items include Chesterfield coats, grandfather shirts and cheeky chappy Baker boy caps - part of the brand's partnership with iconic British hatter Christy's.

Of his sartorial venture, Williams says "It's very similar to making an album, after all that's what an album is? It's an idea. What is art? It's an idea, as are clothes."

After his Brown Thomas visit, Williams will play a charity concert at the O2 in aid of Unicef and Childline. Farrell isn't the only new venture for the former Take That member, whose new album Take The Crown goes on sale on Nov 5.

The Stoke-on-Trent native also looks forward to his most important project of all - that of fatherhood - with his wife Ayda Field, who is soon due to give birth.
