Up and away trans-Atlantic helium baloonist

Jonathan Trappe, who lifted off at sunrise Thursday from a foggy field in northern Maine, near the Canadian border using more than 300 helium-filled balloons, wrote on his Facebook page around 8:30pm local time that he has landed safely. He says he'll stay there for the night. He didn't specify where.
Trappe's goal is to float across the ocean. He's using multicoloured helium balloons instead of a conventional hot-air balloon.
Trappe, from North Carolina, says on his website that the Atlantic Ocean has been crossed many times and in many ways, but "never quite like this".
About 150 volunteers helped to fill the balloons before Trappe lifted off.
