Homes evacuated after Newtownabbey security alert

A number of homes have been evacuated as a result of a security alert in Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim.

The alert in the O'Neill Road area, near Knockenagh Drive, follows the discovery of a suspicious object.

British Army bomb experts have been tasked to the scene.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
