Four children among dead in raid on Baghdad house

Gunmen killed seven members of an Iraqi family including four children when they broke into the home of two anti-al-Qaida militiamen north of Baghdad, officials said today.

Police said the gunmen were armed with pistols fitted with silencers when they stormed the house at dawn in the town of Tarmiyah.

A man, two women and four children aged between six and 14 were killed.

The town is located about 30 miles north of Baghdad.

A health official confirmed the death toll.
