The Exchequer returns are the last data due out before the Budget is announced on October 15.
The Taoiseach, Tánaiste and ministers Michael Noonan and Brendan Howlin will meet this evening to discuss the data - and will likely decide on the final figure for Budget adjustments.
It is believed that figure could come in under the Troika demand of €3.1bn, but if tax income is lower than expected the State will likely need to make deeper cuts.
