Nokia shares surge on back of strong Lumia handset sales

Shares in Nokia have surged.

The Finnish company's net sales in the fourth quarter were worth over £3bn, boosted by strong sales of its new Lumia smartphone.

In total the company sold more than 4.4 million of the handsets.

This afternoon Nokia's shares were trading up 18%.
