Schaeuble: Worst of eurozone debt crisis is over

The German finance minister Wolfgang Schaeuble has said the worst of the eurozone sovereign debt crisis is over.

Mr Schaeuble made the comments in an interview with a German newspaper, due to be published today.

He said governments in heavily indebted countries, like Ireland and Greece, have recognised that the crisis will only be overcome by implementing tough measures.

The Coalition is still working to secure a deal on Ireland's €32bn bank debt.
