Dunnes pay €21m debt ahead of wind up petition

Dunnes Stores paid a €21m debt last night ahead of a petition to wind up the retail chain.

Builders Holtglen Ltd told the Commercial Court it regretted having to bring the petition, which arose from Dunnes' failure to comply with an order to pay the debt for work on the Ferrybank Shopping Centre in Kilkenny.
