Govt looks at JobBridge incentives for employers

The Government is reported to be looking at two possible options to incentivise employers to hold onto interns and people on the live register.

Companies would receive around €1,000 for keeping JobBridge interns on for 13 months after their internship is completed.

Businesses that retain people for the same period who were on the live register for a year and a half would receive around €2,000.

The Department of Social Protection and the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation are involved in the design of the schemes, with an announcement expected on Budget Day.
