Rumours of new business costs 'affecting employment': IBEC

Budget kite-flying is putting businesses off hiring staff, according to the latest Business Sentiment Survey from IBEC.

The group is warning the Government that speculation that labour costs may increase in December's budget is damaging business confidence.

Its survey has also revealed that over 3,000 jobs will be lost next year if the Government goes ahead with its plans to increase PRSI and introduce a statutory sick pay scheme.
