on 31/07/2012 11:26:38
The Hiroshima-based car-maker suffered a setback from last year's earthquake and tsunami disaster which disrupted production.
Like other Japanese car-makers, it is recovering.
Mazda reported a 24% leap in quarterly sales to 506.6bn yen (€5.27bn) as it sold more cars in North America and Japan. Mazda sold 300,000 vehicles in the quarter, up 6.5%.
The maker of the Miata sports car and CX-5 crossover sport-utility stuck to its full-year forecast of 1.3 million vehicle sales and a 10bn yen (€104.04m) profit. It recorded a 107bn yen (€1.11bn) loss the previous year.
