Yahoo insists most hacked passwords invalid

Internet giant Yahoo is moving to reassure its users that just a "fraction" of the half a million passwords stolen by hackers are valid.

Yesterday, the company confirmed that its systems had been compromised, however Yahoo insists the data accessed was from an old file.

According to estimates, just 5% of those passwords are valid and the company has apologised to users.
