Cabinet to draft law for state bodies to share personal data

The Cabinet has agreed to examine new laws which will make it easier for state bodies to share personal data.
Ministers have agreed to commission a draft of a new Bill to minimise duplication for the likes of financial paperwork and means tests.
It is thought that the personal services card, which is already used by social welfare recipients, will be extended for use in other areas across the public sector.
