Report shows increase in Irish hotel room prices

The average hotel price in Ireland is now €92, according to the latest survey by Hotels.com Price Index.
Killarney is the destination where tourists paid the most, while Limerick remains the least expensive destination.
Michael O Keefe from Hotels.com said that the Government's tourism initiative The Gathering is partly responsible for the price increase.
"In Dublin, the EU presidency may have had an impact as well," he said.
"And what we've seen in the capital, and other cities, is a return of conferencing, which has also seen hotel room prices stabilise, but also increase.
"It is important to note though that it is coming from a number of years of decline up to about two years ago, but what we have seen over the last number of years is Irish hotel room prices recover, which can only be good news for the Irish economy."
