Boy, 7, in hospital after falling into Cork river

A seven-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being pulled from a river in Co Cork this evening.

It is understood the boy fell into the water just after 7pm near the Mill Road in Midleton.

Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was taken to Cork University Hospital where he said to be in a serious condition.
