TD's son gets two years for 'very worst case of dangerous driving'

A TD's son has been jailed for nearly two years for a number of serious motoring offences, arising out of a high-speed chase with gardaí.

Peter Fleming -- son of Fianna Fáil TD, Sean Fleming -- was also banned from driving for four years.

He has admitted charges of dangerous driving, drink driving, hit and run, stealing a car, driving without insurance, and, driving without a driver's licence.

The court heard the 22-year-old drove through a pedestrian crossing at high speed and crossed over three lanes of traffic, as he was pursued by gardaí.

Presiding judge Eugene O'Kelly described it as the "very worst case of dangerous driving" ever to come before the court.
