Ennis gets go-ahead for €7.1m flood protection project

Plans for a major new flood defence scheme for Ennis in Co. Clare have been given the green light.

The €7.1m project will take at least 18 months to complete and will lead to the protection of up to 1,300 homes and businesses.

Ennis was one of the worst areas affected by the devastating floods of November 2009.
