The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said yesterday that AGC Aerospace and Defence had suspended 60-year-old Joe Hundley, of Hayden, Idaho, as president of its Unitech Composites and Structures.
Daniel Keeney of DPK Public Relations later confirmed that Mr Hundley was no longer working for the company.
AGC issued a statement yesterday that did not mention Mr Hundley by name, but called reports of an executive's behaviour on personal travel "offensive and disturbing" and said he "is no longer employed with the company".
The statement does not say whether he resigned or was sacked.
Mr Hundley was charged with assault last week after he was accused of slapping a two-year-old boy on a Minneapolis-to-Atlanta flight on February 8 and using a racial slur against the child.
His lawyer has said he will plead not guilty
