GAA world mourns broadcaster Ó Ceallacháin

Legendary sports journalist and broadcaster Seán Óg Ó Ceallacháin has died at the age of 89.

A stalwart on the airwaves for over 60 years, the former Gaelic footballer and hurler with Dublin and Eoghan Ruadh was loved by many through his Sunday night RTÉ radio programme 'Gaelic Sports Results', which he had taken over from his father, Seán Ó Ceallacháin.

The Gaelic Sports Results programme had a worldwide audience amongst the Irish diaspora through satellite and web broadcasting and was the longest running continuously broadcast radio feature in the world.

He retired in May 2011.
