Special court sitting as two charged with dissident Republican activity in Tipperary

Two men are to appear at the Special Criminal Court this evening charged in connection with dissident Republican activity.

The men, who are both in their 30s, were arrested on Thursday evening on the N24 road at Cahir in Co. Tipperary after gardaí found a number of explosive devices.

Two cars were also seized following the searches.

A third man, who was also arrested, was released this afternoon without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
