Probe as gang shoots man in ankle

Police in Derry are hunting a gang who shot a 29-year-old man in the ankle.

He was attacked at Meehan Square in the Bogside area of Derry at about 8.30pm last night.

Police described the incident as a punishment-style attack.

A spokeswoman for the PSNI has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
