Builder helped dispose of body in woods after row about money, court hears

A court has heard how a German builder working in Ireland helped to dispose of a body in woods in Co Laois.

Joachim Pohl, with an address at Linton Place, Kilkenny is to be sentenced at the Central Criminal Court for assisting with the removal and concealment of the body of Thomas Thompson of Borris Road, Portlaoise in April 2007.

The 29-year-old was present when a German colleague killed Mr Thompson at his house by strking him twice in the back of the head with a bale of briquettes, during a row about money.

Mr Thompson was owed money for plastering work.
