Lower voting age and shorter presidential term among issues on Constitutional Convention agenda
on 26/01/2013 11:49:05
Also among a raft of proposed changes to the Constitution is the reduction of the Presidential term of office from seven to five years.
The weekend will conclude with a vote on all the issues discussed.
Chairperson of the Constitutional Convention Tom Arnold said that after that vote, the Convention will recommend whether the changes should be made or not, and send a report to the Government.
The Government will then decide on whether to accept the recommendations. If it does, the changes will be put to the people in a referendum.
