Shooter reported on US campus

A Texas college has gone into a lockdown amid reports of a shooter on campus.

A shelter-in-place order has been issued, said Jed Young, spokesman for the Lone Star College System campus in north Harris County.

Emergency personnel have responded to reports at the Houston-area college campus.

The College System issued an alert on its website telling students and staff to take immediate shelter or avoid the campus.

Aerial footage from local television stations shows emergency personnel attending to some people on stretchers and at least one being taken into an ambulance. Others can be seen running from a building led by officers.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says it has no immediate details.
