Sex abuse support group: Likely Savile abused in Ireland

A support group for sex abuse victims has said it is very likely that Jimmy Savile had sexually abused women and children in Ireland.

One in Four have said Savile visited Ireland for charity work around once a year for more than 10 years up until 1981, including a sponsored walk for the Central Remedial Clinic.

The late broadcaster's abuse lasted for 54 years, and he now has 214 criminal offences recorded against his name in the UK.

The Executive Director of One in Four Maeve Lewis said any Irish victims should come forward.
