Man further remanded in connection with Collins murder

A 48-year-old man has been remanded in custody for a further two weeks after appearing before Harristown court in Castlerea today in connection with the murder of Sandra Collins in December 2000.

Martin Earley from Banagher, Carrowmore Lacken in Co Mayo was remanded until January 18, to appear again before Harristown court, having been charged on December 28 with the murder of the 29-year-old woman.

Ms Collins disappeared 12 years ago from Killala in Co Mayo.

A murder investigation was launched, but her remains have never been found.
