People are being encouraged to consider giving, instead of giving up, for the New Year.

For many people, self-improvement is the theme this month, but easing other people's difficulties might be an even better way to spend your time, according to Tony Griffin, co-founder of the Soar Foundation.

The Soar Foundation is a group that hopes to provide help and support to thousands of young people over the next few years.

He wants everyone to find a cause, but admits volunteering while making ends meet is extremely difficult.
