Bank of Ireland directors to face Oireachtas Committee today

Public Interest directors at Bank of Ireland are due to face the Oireachtas Finance Committee today.

Tom Considine and Joe Walsh will be quizzed on a number of areas, including their role on the bank boards and the scrutiny applied to lending policies for small businesses.

They are also expected to face questions on the bank's decision to increase interest rates on its credit cards this week, a move which has drawn criticism from politicians and consumer groups.

The Public Interest directors at AIB are also due before the Committee today.
