National Off-Licence Association criticises proposed tax on drink

The National Off-Licence Association is hitting out at proposals put forward by the Vintners Federation of Ireland.

The group, which represents publicans, is calling on the Government to impose a 15% tax on drink sold in supermarkets and off licences in next week's budget.

But the National Off-Licence Association said such a move would put independent off licences out of business overnight
