on 31/10/2012 10:12:41
Unions representing the majority of workers at the airline are to serve notice of a two-hour stoppage on Monday, November 19.
It follows the breakdown of talks between management at the airline and unions over the workers pension scheme.
Minister Varadkar said people are entitled to have their pensions, but any solution has to be affordable.
He said: "Any industrial action will discommode business people, tourists, visitors and other travellers and bear in mind a lot of those people don't have very good pensions themselves.
"I really hope that all sides can return to talks and exhaust a process of talks befaore any strike action occurs."
