Aer Lingus advisors to examine strike notice
on 30/10/2012 19:00:16
Staff said that they will hold a two hour work stoppage on the 19th of November - unless the airline returns to the L-R-C for further talks on the company's pension deficit.
The action will see flights grounded at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports.
For it's part, Aer Lingus is denying union claims that it walked away from the discussions last week.
In a statement, the airline also said that it remains available for further talks.
Union spokesperson Bernard Harbour said that the action can still be averted.
"Our belief is that a resolution can be found to this problem, there is no need for disruption", he said
"The only reason that the group of unions today has taken this decision is because Aer Lingus has decided to walk away from the process, no decisions have been taken beyond the 19th of November"
