Mullingar fire under control

A fire near a shopping centre in Mullingar has been brought under control by four units of the fire brigade today.

The blaze broke out in a shed in a yard behind Penney's in Firgreen in the town.

The alarm was raised just before three this afternoon, and it is understood that fire-fighters are still at the scene.

A Garda investigation is underway.
