on 29/10/2012 11:26:58
The 22-year-old was detained in Shropshire by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) serious crime branch investigating the death of Lee Smyth.
He is being taken back to the North for questioning, a PSNI spokesman said.
Mr Smyth, 32, spent two years in hospital after being seriously assaulted in a laneway beside a river at Ballinahone Avenue, Armagh, on June 6, 2010.
He never recovered and died in June of this year.
Another 22-year-old man was arrested in Co Armagh in connection with the attack.
PSNI detective chief inspector Gareth Talbot said: "I believe that there are people in the Armagh area who know what happened to Lee and who were involved.
"I appeal directly to those people to search their conscience, come forward and tell us what they know. It is never too late to do the right thing."
