Cavan poultry workers end sit-in

Former staff at Co-operative Poultry Products in Cavan have ended their sit in protest this evening.

Following intense discussions between SIPTU representatives and the receiver Simon Coyle of Mazars, an agreement was reached which resolved the impasse at the poultry processing plant in Cootehill.

SIPTU said that the full terms of the agreement are confidential.

The sit-in began on Tuesday following the announcement that the company was closing with immediate effect, with the loss of 90 jobs.
