A report in The Sunday Times newspaper says teenager, Nathan Young, has complained to the Irish Human Rights Commission that his vocational education committee school breached his human rights.
The 16-year-old student at Borrisokane community college has demanded the school principal apologise and promise not to make religious events mandatory for students in the future.
Principal Matthew Carr told the paper he would not be commenting until he had read Young's correspondence on the matter.
