Gardaí in fresh witness appeal on anniversary of Gavin McCarthy murder

Gardaí are renewing an appeal for information on the murder of a 21-year-old man in Dublin, on the fourth anniversary of his killing.

Gavin McCarthy was shot dead outside a Chinese takeaway shop on Lower Sheriff Street in the north inner city at about 9pm on Sunday October 19, 2008.

He was with his brother and a number of other people when a lone gunman on a bicycle opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Investigating officers say, four years on, they hope people's circumstances may have changed. They are urging anyone with information to contact Store Street Garda Station.
