HIQA proposes standard of care for disabled in residential care

Draft standards for residential care services for people with disabilities have been published.

At present, around 10,000 people with disabilities live in residential care settings without any independent oversight.

The Health Information and Quality Authority has now issued proposed minimum standards for these centres.
